This book perfectly captures the frustration of being unable to create an idea that you have in your head. A young girl sets out to create the most magnificent thing, but struggles with not getting her creations just right.

One of my favorite page from The Most Magnificent Thingimages in the book is when she smashes her finger and explodes in anger and frustration. Haven’t all of us had those moments in our life, and I love how Spires captures that feeling for her young readers. In the end, the girl’s perseverance pays off. What a great learning opportunity to share with young people as they try to cope with frustration as they learn and create.
