One day Little Bird overhears his father use an adult-only word, and is so excited about using this new word that he says it to all his friends. They do not like hearing this word, and so Little Bird must learn a new big bird word — sorry!
This is a good lesson book for children about how sometimes adults don’t always use good words, and that some words aren’t meant to be repeated. This book could make a good opener for that conversation between an adult and a child, and it broaches the subject in a fun way.
Make sure you look for the worm. He is hidden throughout most of the illustrations, and then has a key role at the end!
