Princess Pinecone dreams of the day she is a fierce warrior, and like all warriors, she must have a trusty horse to ride into battle. Her parents try to fulfill her birthday wish, but the little pony she gets is frankly too small, and too…round. Will Princess Pinecone be able to train the horse in time for the warrior battle?

Young children will enjoy the silliness in the story, and the pony really is adorable. The story also includes engaging illustrations, and fart humor, sure to garner young laughter.

The independent reading level is around 3rd grade, due to some difficult words like “flummoxed,” but within the context of the story, readers will be able to deduce the meaning.
