Bear & Hare: Where's Bear? book coverby Emily Gravett
Picture book, beginning readers
Interest level: Pre-K through grade 1
Reading level: 0.7
4 out of 5 stars

This is a cute story of two friends playing hide-and-seek. Using minimal words and adorable illustrations, Emily Gravett shares a story of Hare and Bear taking turns hiding and finding each other. Bear struggles to find good hiding places, so Hare takes a turn hiding.

There is a fun twist, when Bear can’t find Hare, that young readers will enjoy. It lets them be “in the know” while Bear and Hare are frantically searching for each other. The ending makes you feel good and experience the love between the two friends.

Overall, this will be a delightful book for readers just venturing out on their own. The book is sweet, with an interesting twist.
