The cartoon-like illustrations, combined with the cats vs. dogs theme, will appeal to children. There are plenty of sight gags that make it fun to really pay attention to the illustration details.
The text itself has a choppy feel to it, so it is not an ideal read-aloud. book There is quite a lot of text and several picture panels per page, which makes the story almost like a cross between a picture book and a beginning graphic novel. I would recommend this book for individual reading by a child that likes dogs or cats.
